Scan Hero — Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 30 May 2026 Effective date: 30 May 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the activities and content that are prohibited on scanheroai.com, its subdomains, APIs and related services (the "Service"), operated by AIz Serviços de Inteligência Artificial Ltda. ("Scan Hero"). It is part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.

This AUP applies to every user, every account (free or paid), every API call and every webhook delivery. Violating it can lead to immediate suspension or termination of your account, deletion of offending content, and (where applicable) referral to law-enforcement authorities, with no obligation to refund unused credits.

1. Your basic commitments

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of your country and any country to which you direct the content (including data-protection, intellectual-property, export-control, sanctions, anti-corruption, anti-money-laundering and consumer-protection laws);
  • you have all necessary rights, consents and legal bases (under the LGPD, GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws and any other applicable law) to upload every file you submit, including consent from any third party whose personal data is in the file when consent is the applicable legal basis;
  • you will not use the Service to violate the rights of others, including intellectual-property, privacy, publicity and confidentiality rights.

If you are in doubt about whether a particular use is allowed, ask us at admin@scanheroai.com before uploading.

2. Prohibited content

You may not upload, generate, store or transmit through the Service any content that:

2.1 Is illegal or facilitates illegal activity

  • material that depicts, promotes, glorifies or facilitates terrorism, violent extremism, organised crime or human trafficking;
  • material that promotes or facilitates fraud, identity theft, money laundering, tax evasion, sanctions evasion or other financial crimes;
  • material that depicts, promotes, glorifies or facilitates violence against people or animals, including self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or torture;
  • material that incites or glorifies hatred, discrimination, harassment or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic;
  • material that violates export-control, sanctions or anti-corruption laws (including U.S. OFAC, EU restrictive measures, Brazilian export-control law).

2.2 Sexually exploits or endangers minors

  • any child sexual abuse material ("CSAM") — depictions, generations, descriptions, encouragement, planning or facilitation; zero tolerance. We will preserve and report violations to NCMEC, the Brazilian Federal Police / SaferNet and other competent authorities as required by law (e.g. 18 U.S.C. § 2258A);
  • any content that sexualises minors, including text, captions, line art, deepfakes, "look-alikes" or AI-generated material;
  • any grooming, solicitation or facilitation of contact with minors for sexual purposes.

2.3 Is NSFW (not safe for work) or sexually explicit

  • pornography, sexually explicit imagery, descriptions of sexual acts, or any other adult sexual content, whether real, fictional or AI-generated;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery (so-called "revenge porn"), deepfakes or face-swapped sexual content of real people;
  • erotic role-play content involving real individuals without their explicit consent.

2.4 Violates intellectual-property or confidentiality rights

  • copyrighted works for which you do not have a licence, fair-use justification or another legal basis;
  • trade secrets, confidential information, attorney-client-privileged materials or under-NDA documents that you are not authorised to process via a third-party service;
  • counterfeit or trademark-infringing material.

2.5 Threatens privacy or security

  • personal data of third parties that you have no legal basis to process under the LGPD, GDPR or applicable U.S. law;
  • doxxing material (private addresses, phone numbers, IDs) intended to expose, harass or threaten an individual;
  • payment card numbers, full government identification numbers (CPF, SSN, passport, etc.) that you do not have authority to process;
  • credentials, API keys, tokens or other secrets belonging to third parties.

2.6 Is technically harmful

  • malware, viruses, ransomware, spyware, worms, trojans, droppers, exploit code intended to harm computer systems or third parties;
  • content designed to phish or deceive users (e.g. fake bank communications, fake government letters);
  • content used to attack the Service or third-party systems (DoS, brute force, credential stuffing, fuzzing in production).

2.7 Is defamatory or otherwise tortious

  • material that is defamatory, libellous, knowingly false or that harasses, intimidates or threatens a person;
  • material that infringes another's right of publicity.

2.8 Concerns regulated industries without proper safeguards

The Service is not a HIPAA-compliant medical record system, is not PCI-DSS-certified for storage of card data, and is not designed for the processing of classified or export-controlled information. Do not use it to process such content unless you have your own legal basis and have assessed the risks. We have no liability for unsuitable use.

3. Prohibited behaviour

In addition to the content rules above, you may not:

  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, security mechanisms, quota systems, watermarks or paywalls;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written authorisation (responsible disclosure: admin@scanheroai.com);
  • use bots, scrapers or any automated tool to access the Service beyond the documented API;
  • resell, sublicense or repackage the Service without our written consent;
  • use the Service to train a competing AI model or to develop a competing product;
  • use the Service in connection with high-risk activities where failure could lead to death, personal injury or severe property or environmental damage (e.g. nuclear facilities, life-support systems, aircraft navigation, military weapon systems) — the Service is not designed or warranted for these uses;
  • transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam) using outputs of the Service;
  • introduce content that overloads, disrupts or impairs the Service or other users' enjoyment of it.

4. Use of AI outputs — your responsibility

Outputs of the Service are produced by probabilistic AI models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased or misleading. You are solely responsible for:

  • reviewing outputs before relying on them, particularly for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical or other high-stakes uses;
  • not presenting outputs as if they were generated by a human when applicable transparency laws (e.g. the EU AI Act, certain U.S. state laws) require disclosure of AI use;
  • not using outputs to defame, deceive, manipulate or harm third parties;
  • complying with any sector-specific rules that apply to your use case.

The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial or professional advice.

5. Reporting abuse

If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this AUP, or if you believe your account has been used by a third party in violation of this AUP, write to admin@scanheroai.com with as much detail as you can share safely. For copyright complaints, follow the DMCA process described in the Terms of Service.

6. Consequences of violation

We may, at our discretion and depending on the severity:

  • warn you and ask you to remove the offending content;
  • remove or restrict access to the offending content;
  • suspend or terminate your account, with no refund of unused credits where the violation is material or repeated;
  • preserve evidence and cooperate with law-enforcement authorities;
  • report the violation to the relevant authorities (e.g. NCMEC for CSAM, ANPD for data-protection violations, INPI or USPTO for IP violations);
  • pursue any other remedy available under the Terms of Service or applicable law.

Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are not waived by this AUP.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced by e-mail or in-app notice with reasonable advance notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this AUP always reflects the current version.
